- First I folded the fabric in half backside facing up, with the nice furry side on the inside, then laid it flat on the floor. I used a friend's authentic sheepskin rug for my pattern. If you can't get hold of the real deal, you can get a template here.
- I then traced around the original sheepskin rug, just making it bigger to fit my fabric size, and started cutting.
- I then folded it out, and ran my hand around the edges to get rid of any loose fluff (and by gosh there was a lot!). I was also checking to make sure that it wasn't going to continue to fray. It that was the case, I had a sewing machine ready to tidy it up.
